After suffering through a four-game losing skid for the first time in three years, the Brescia Bearcats entered Saturday's game at KIAC foe IU-Southeast with a clear feeling of desparation. The Bearcats needed a win in the worst way and were determined to take one back home with them as they traveled to New Albany. Brescia answered the bell on Saturday and after trailing by four, 38-34 at the half, they came out and dominated the second stanza, limiting IUS to 25 points after the break as they pulled away to win, 77-63.
Trey Howard led the Bearcats with a career-best 29 points, and freshman Dillon Geralds scored 15 and pulled down 8 boards. Two Bearcats posted double-doubles, as Austin Morris had 12 points and 10 rebounds and Jermain Langley flirted with another triple-double, scoring 10 points while pulling down 12 boards and dishing out 8 assists. Demetrius Stanton led the way for IUS with 19 points.
Brescia returns home on Tuesday to host the Cougars of IU-Kokomo for a 7:00pm tipoff in The Den.
