FLORENCE, Ky. -- Brescia (Ky.) University senior forward Austin Morris averaged 30.0 points per game in two games last week to earn KIAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week honors for Jan. 25-31.
The 6-7 native of Evansville, Ind., recorded averages of 30.0 ppg, 7.5 rpg, 3.5 apg and 2.5 bpg while shooting 68 percent from the field. He started out with 31 points, eight rebounds and five blocks in an 89-76 win at Asbury (Ky.).
Morris then played 42 minutes and totaled 29 points, seven rebounds and six assists in a 91-87, overtime loss at Alice Lloyd (Ky.). For the week, he scored 60 points in the two games and shot 26 for 38 (.684) from the field.
Morris leads Brescia with 16.3 ppg, 7.7 rpg and 2.5 bpg. His blocks average is fourth in NAIA Division II, and he is 10th in the country with 47 total blocks. Morris is shooting 58 percent from the field, which is 19th in the nation.
