Cincinnati Christian was able to post a 3-0 victory over the Bearcats in River State Conference play on Saturday at Kamuf Park. Scoring was at a premium, but the Eagles were able to net 1 in the first half and 2 more in the second. Thirteen minutes into the first half, Corinne Windisch (CCU) was able to squirt a ball into the goal on an assist by Sarah Rall. The score stayed at 1-0 through halftime. In the second half less than two minutes after kickoff, Maddie Rench (CCU) scored her first goal of the game on an assist by Brandi Rice. With five minutes left in the game, the Bearcats pulled a defender up to the offensive line for more scoring pressure and Rench got loose for her second goal, this time assisted by Megan Klenk.
Injuries once again took a toll on the Bearcats. Brescia has still not started a game this season with all players available for the opening kickoff. Emma Payne (SO/Louisville, KY) was sitting out the game after suffering a concussion last week. 30 minutes into the first half, Allison Chappell (FR/Owensboro, KY) was running onto a bouncing ball with open space ahead of her. Unfortunately, a Cincinnati Christina player was going for the ball as well and kicked Chappell in the face and she was unable to return to the match. Tori King (SR/Radcliff, KY), finally back this week from her own concussion, was stepped on in the second half and played sparingly. Darla West (SR) was still nursing an ankle injury and came up laim several times in the second half. Jerrica Kidd (SO) was limping around most of the second half as well with a knee injury.
