The Brescia Men's Basketball Team got a big road win at IU Kokomo on Saturday 99-90 over the Cougars. The Bearcats were led by Senior Trey Howard (SR/Owensboro, KY) with 23 points followed closely by Zach McDaniel (SO/Bowling Green, KY) with 22 points. The others starters also scored in double digits with sophomore Mason Roland (SO/Sebree, KY) adding 15 points and 7 assists, fellow sophomore Ed Carter (SO/Owensboro, KY) adding 14 points and 5 big blocks, and sophomore Dillon Geralds (SO/Tompkinsville, KY) adding 12 points and 10 rebounds. "After being down by 5 at half we came out in the second and did a better job of execution where Mason really did a good job in getting others involved in particular Zach with some open looks at the 3 point line. Ed Carter stepped up big when we needed him the most coming up with some big blocks and we hit our free throws down the stetch to seal the win. With the RSC playoff race so tight this was a big conference road win for us." added Head Coach Brian Skortz.
The win pulled Brescia a game closer to second place Asbury who comes to Owensboro on Tuesday in a big RSC game. Asbury, Alice Lloyd, CCU and Brescia are all within a game of one another for the final 3 spots in the west division. Come out Tuesday and support the Bearcats as they take on conference rival Asbury at 7pm.
