The Bearcats pick up a come from behind win on the back of a strong pitching performance by Sophomore Lefty Tanner Tow. Tow threw 7 strong innings allowing just 4 runs on 4 hits and giving the Bearcats a quality start. "Tow did was he always does for us, and thats compete and give us a chance to win. After a tough weekend Tow gave us exactly what we needed with a great start" Said Coach Dickson.
Brescia fell behind early 2-0 in the second but answered back with 1 in the top of the 4th when Reed Rounder reached on an error to score Alex Flock. Oakland City then added 2 more in the bottom of the 4th to give the Oaks a 4-1 lead at the time. After adding 1 run in the 5th the Bearcats broke through with a big inning in the 6th pushing 3 runs accross. The inning started by a 1 out single by Reed Rounder and was followed up by an RBI double by Shawn Callis. Callis was then driven in by Kenny Rideout on a hard hit ball to Short that was knocked into the left field. With Rideout on 2nd it was Sophomore Nate Harris who delivered what proved to be the winning run on a single to left.
It was after 7 strong from Tanner Tow, that coach Dickson brought Senior RHP Tyler Solomon into the game for the 2 inning save. After a quick 1-2-3 inning in the 8th, Solomon had to work around a lead off walk in the 9th but was able to enduse a big 4-6-3 DP shut down the rally. The Bearcats will be back in action this weekend for the 2017 Home opener vs. St. Xavier University.
