OWENSBORO, KY - Brescia University Men's Soccer Head Coach Will Van Nostrand announced the addition of Michael Chrisman as a volunteer assistant coach on Friday.
"I'm very excited to have Michael (Chrisman) on staff here at Brescia. He played collegiately at the NAIA level and has a great understanding of what it takes to compete at this level. He's a young ambitious coach who will have a positive impact in helping to grow this program," remarked Coach Van Nostrand.
Chrisman, a native of Louisville, KY, grew up playing club soccer at Louisville Soccer Alliance. Michael attended New Albany High School where as a player he helped lead them to two Sectional championships, a regional championship, and the State Semi-finals his senior year.
After graduating from New Albany HS, Michael attended Lyon College in Batesville, Arkansas. During his time at Lyon, Michael was part of the program's record wins in a season (13) and the program's first appearance in the NAIA Top 25. Chrisman also participated in FCA and Student Athlete Advisor Organization. Michael graduated in the spring of 2015 with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration.
Michael also coaches at Louisville Soccer Alliance where he previously coached u17 and u18 boys. He is currently coaching u13 boys, helping the '05 boys earn runner-up in the Kentucky State Cup. Michael has earned his USSF F and E licenses, and is completing his D license.
Michael resides in Louisville and he is currently employed at Anthem BCBS as an Underwriting Specialist.
"I'm excited to be back around in the collegiate game and working with Will. Brescia has made great strides in the past couple years and I look forward to helping the program continue that growth," stated Chrisman.
