The second match of the Eagle Invite would schedule Brescia University against the Wildcats of Culver-Stockton.
The Lady Bearcats would come out flat in the first set, fall behind early, and never recover. Brescia loses the first set 25-19. After the side switch, BU would come out strong and take care of set two in a convincing manor (25-10). With the match tied at 1-1. Culver-Stockton would come out strong in the third set and hold off the Lady Bearcats (25-20).
Brescia now found themselves with their back against the wall falling behind 2-1 in the match. With the leadership of Seniors Rhiannon Ungerer and Courtney Reels, the Bearcats would once again refocus and take the fourth set easily (25-11). "This was a typical pre-season match, we played some great volleyball at times, and then we looked like we had no clue what was going on." (Coach Forbes)
The fifth set began with the Lady Bearcats taking the lead 8-5 at the side change. Katherine Porter would go to the service line and produce two service aces to stretch the led to 10-5. From there the Lady Bearcats were able to put together a 5-2 run and secure the match with a 15-7 win in the fifth.
Natalie Jones who pounded 18 kills and scooped up 18 digs led the Lady Bearcats again. Helping the Bearcats get their third win of the season was Porter and Hayes both producing 11 kills, Ungerer added 10 and Tivitt would add 7.
Assists were close to even with Buckner getting 24 and Satterfiled adding 27. On the defensive side of the net, Kristin Logsdon would help the Bearcats with 23 digs, also helping keep the ball from hitting the floor was Ungerer (14), Buckner (10) and Reels(7).
