Brescia University Men's Basketball team paired up with Legacy Owensboro Church, in a joint effort to help those in need from the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey.
"What is happening in Houston is unfortunate. We are just glad to be able to contribute to the cause and hopefully make a difference in anyway that we can," stated Adam Wilkinson.
The team raised money in order to purchase essential items lost by so many people in the path of Harvey. The men's team then donated the items to Legacy Owensboro Church. Legacy Owensboro Church is loading up a cargo truck of donation and will be delivering the donations to the Houston area soon.
Head Coach Brian Skortz stated, "This is about making a difference. What has happened with the people, who live in the Houston area, due to the hurricane is horrible. This disaster impacts the lives of so many people… people that need our help. This is the right thing to do. I am proud that our guys recognize the importance to help others… to give of themselves to help people in need. They came together last night and quickly gathered items to try to help these people miles away from here in Owensboro. We will continue to find ways to help these people recover and restart their lives after this horrible event."
