OWENSBORO, KY - The Brescia University's Men's Soccer team played host to Shawnee State University on Saturday afternoon. Brescia would apply pressure early, when Mateo Ruales took a quick throw in to Karim Ndoye, who would carry the ball into the box and slot away the first of the match to give Brescia the 1-0 lead.
Then just 10 minutes later, Davis Mitchell would puck up a second ball and play Karim Ndoye in behind, where he would find his second goal of the match and extend the Bearcat lead to 2-0. Brescia would see out the half with the 2-0 lead.
After the break, Brescia would find themselves with a corner kick just five minutes into the half. Shawnee State would fail to clear the ball and after two Brescia attempts on goal, Karim Ndoye would smash home his third of the day to give himself a hat trick and to give Brescia the 3-0 lead.
Much of the second half would play out at 3-0 until in the 75th minute, Shawnee State would get their first of the game and add a second goal just 4 minutes later to cut the lead to 3-2 in favor of Brescia. The Bearcats would see out the match giving themselves the 3-2 victory and pushing their record to 2-4 on the season.
Brescia (2-4) are back in action on 9/16 when they travel down to take on the University of the Cumberlands (2-2-2) at the Cumberlands. Kickoff is at 5PM EST.
