WILLIAMSBURG, KY – The Brescia University Men's Soccer team traveled down to the University of the Cumberlands to take on the Patriots. The Bearcats were looking to build on their win vs Shawnee State, as they edge closer to conference play.
Cumberlands would get on the score sheet early and take the 1-0 lead. After going down, Brescia settled into the match and began to play. The Bearcats best chance of the half came when Jean Laurent played Ricardo Majano in behind, but Majano's shot came from a tight angle and the Cumberlands Keeper was able to make the save. Cumberlands would take the 1-0 lead into the half.
Just minutes into the second half, Brescia would have another chance to get on the score sheet when Karim Ndoye chased down a back pass to the Cumberlands Goalkeeper and was able to block the Keepers clearance attempt, but Ndoye's block would hit off the crossbar. The Patriots would come back down the field and extend the lead to 2-0.
Down 2-0, Brescia would push the tempo for the remainder of the half, but would get hit on the counter two more times before the ninety minutes time clock expired, and the match would end 4-0 in favor of the Cumberlands.
Brescia is back in action at home on Wednesday when they play host to Pikeville. Kickoff is at 6PM CST.
