The Bearcats were unable to solve the defense of the Knights in Grayson, KY as Brescia lost 3-0 to Kentucky Christina University. Things started poorly for the Bearcats as they conceded a goal on the first shot the Knights took for the game. The Knights were able to slip in another goal in the first half and added a 3rd midway through the second half for the final tally of 3-0.
The Lady Bearcats had better possession of the ball and had several opportunities with the ball in the box of the Knights. In spite of spending much of the afternoon inside the 18, the Bearcats had only 6 shots with Haley Coons (JR/Owensboro, KY) taking 3 of them.
Coach David Ralph said after the game, "Our pressure was not good, our going to the ball was not good, but I think we were the better team overall today. KCU did a great job of taking care of their chances and they really did a good job of fortifying their defense around the goal. We needed one goal and I think it would have been an onslaught at that point, but we could never get a clean look."
The Bearcats are back in action Wednesday against Pikeville at Kamuf Park.
