After a River States Conference loss to the Cougars of I.U. Kokomo, the Lady Bearcats would refocus and take down the Panthers of Kentucky Wesleyan College in the night game. The Lady Bearcats would jump out in the first to a commanding lead and win set one 25-8. The second set would be a back and forth battle with neither team able to pull away until the Lady Bearcats were able to put together a run to take set two 25-21.
Now, with a commanding lead in the set the Lady Bearcats were seeking to vindicate an early season loss to the Panthers. But, KWC would not go down without a fight. The Bearcats would find themselves ahead late 21-17 and were ready to take the match. But the Panthers again would mount a charge to pull even with the Bearcats at 23-23. After a timeout by Coach Forbes to set the play. The Lady Bearcats would get a first ball side out and pull within one of ending the match. Going back to the line to serve was senior D/S Courtney Reels. "Reels hit the serve I wanted and then she made the dig that set everything in motion." (Coach Forbes)
After the dig by Reels, junior setter April Buckner was able to dish the ball out to senior outside hitter Rhiannon Ungerer. Ungerer would get the final kill of the match and the Bearcats would take set three 25-23.
The Lady Bearcats were led by Junior transfer Kassidie Hayes with 10 kills and 3 blocks. "Kass didn't play very well this morning but she completely turned things around. I am so proud of her and the team tonight."(Coach Forbes) Helping Kass with the offensive was middle hitter's Porter (6) and Tivitt (5). Tivitt also added three blocks to the stat sheet. Outside hitters Ungerer (8) and Jones (6) also helped put away the Panthers.

The Bearcats were led defensively by Sophomore Natalie Jones who recorded 17 digs. Helping Jones keep the ball off the floor was Logsdon (13), Ungerer (10) and Reels (7).
The Lady Bearcats are back in action on Tuesday when they travel to Nashville to play Fisk University. First serve will be at 7:00 p.m.
