Brescia had another tough River States Conference match as they fell to Point Park 7-0 in Pittsburgh. Point Park was able to take 32 total shots to none for the Bearcats. The Bearcats simply had no answers in the game for the team speed and power presented. The opponents were able to net four before the halftime intermission.
The physicality of two games on the turf and just the general physical play of two strong RSC teams proved difficult late in the game,. Freshman Geralyn Smith (FR/Cincinnati, OH) was going for a ball and injured her ankle midway through the first half and was unable to return. Sophomore Sierra Tomblin (SO/Orlinda, TN) was removed with a nagging lower back injury that prevented her from running or kicking. Adding to the already injured Abby Logsdon (FR/New Salisbury, IN) made things very difficult for the Bearcats. Promising signs were seen at times, but nothing ever materialized to provide a solid offensive punch.
The Lady Bearcats are back in action Thursday at Kamuf Field, game starts at 8:00pm.
