Brescia Volleyball wins first match of the season defeating Kentucky State in four sets.

Brescia Volleyball gets first win of the season against Kentucky State University on Tuesday night. The Lady Bearcats were 0-10 going into Tuesday's match. "It's been tough for our young team and they were finally ready to win," said volleyball head coach, Jerry Forbes. The Bearcats will host three conference opponents this weekend starting with conference powerhouse Asbury on Friday at 4:00 p.m. Then on Saturday Brescia will host St. Louis College at 11:00 a.m. and Alice Lloyd at 3:00 p.m..

"This win could not have come at a better time for our young team," said Forbes. "This will give the ladies a boost of confidence heading into the weekend."

The Lady Bearcats were lead by sophomore outside hitter, Kayla Rothrock, who had 6 kills in the final set to fight off the surging Thorobreds. Also for Brescia was Haley Root with 30 assists and Erin Harper with 18 digs.
