On Friday, the Bearcats and IU-Southeast split a doubleheader with a pair of thrilling one run games.
In the first game, the Grenadiers jumped on top in the bottom of the first on an RBI single by Louis Helmburg and sacrifice fly by AJ Doyle. The Bearcats answered in the top of the third with four runs of their own. Tim Adams, Nick Woltermann and Brady Reese all singled to start the inning with Nate Crocker driving in the first run with a single and Alex Hegge driving in two more with a single of his own before Hank Stewart's sacrifice fly plated the Bearcats fourth run of the inning. IUS was able to get one back in the bottom half on an error pulling them to within one. That's where the score stayed until the bottom of the fifth when Doyle's two run double plated what would prove to be the game winner, as IUS held on 5-4.

In the second game, IUS again jumped out to an early lead as they plated a run in each of the first four innings. Trailing 4-1 in the top of the fifth, the Bearcats were finally able to mount a comeback, as Hank Stewart, Cody Morris and Tim Adams all drove in runs to tie the game at four. That's where the score would stay until the top of the eighth when Nick Woltermann scored on an error for the go ahead run. The Grenadiers were able to get the tying run to second in the bottom of the eighth before Zach McLean slammed the door to earn the win.

On Saturday, the two teams played two more close games.
Game one was a pitcher's duel. IUS scored first pushing a run across in the bottom of the first on an infield single by Justin Hurst. That's where the score stayed until the top of the seventh. Alex Hegge got things going with a one out single and Christian McHatton's two out double put the tying run 90 feet away before a passed ball allowed the tying run to score and put the go ahead run 90 feet away. Tim Adams then delivered an infield single to score Zach Capps to give the Bearcats a 2-1 lead. The Bearcats then turned to Zach McLean in relief of Cody Morris. Marcus Howard promptly led off with a double to start the inning, but was caught going to third on a bouncer back to the mound for the first out. McLean then got a fly ball to left for the second out, but a wild pitch again put the tying run in scoring position, but again McLean was able to slam the door, as he got a fly ball to center to earn his seventh save, which tied a single season school record.

In game two, it was Brescia that got out to an early lead when Jordan Rhodes drove in Nick Woltermann with a third inning RBI single. IUS was able to answer in the fourth on an RBI single by Carter Sibley and jumped out to a 4-1 lead in the fifth thanks in part to an error and a key hit by Justin Hurst. The Bearcats got one back in the top of the sixth on an RBI groundout by Cody Morris, but never got any closer, as IUS held on for the 4-2 win.
