The Brescia men's basketball team returned to the friendly confines of The Den on Sunday against KIAC opponent Point Park.
Brescia jumped out and attacked from the beginning leading 25-19 at the 10:17 mark, but the Pioneers would fight back and closed the gap to 33-31 with 6:26 left in the first half. The Bearcats went on a 17-6 run to close the half and lead 50-37 at the break. Brescia would expand the lead and wear down the Pioneers in the second half when Hunter Rowe's three put Brescia up 59-39 with just under 16 minutes left. Hot shooting by Trey Howard and a monsterous performance down low by Austin Morris would see coach Josh Gibson be able to clear the bench toward the end of the game with the Bearcats up by 30 points. Brescia would secure a 89-69 win in The Den for their first KIAC win of the season.
Brescia was led by Morris' 29 points and 11 rebounds. Howard added 22 points while Decarlos Collier chipped in 17. Brescia made 13 3's on the day. Brescia improves to (7-6) (1-2 KIAC) on the season.
