The Brescia men's hoops team hosted the Eagles of Asbury University Saturday in The Den. Brescia hoped to avenge an earlier loss on the road at Asbury (63-60) back on January 4th. The Bearcats jumped out to an early lead and controlled the tempo of the first half and held a halftime lead of 41-35. The Eagles roared back into the game in the second half and fought the Bearcats all the way to the end. Today, however would prove not to be a repeat of the January meeting as Brescia takes care of buisness at home and win 90-71.
The Bearcats were led today by Decarlos Collier's 21 points. Austin Morris added 18 points and 8 rebounds, while Jermain Langley had 17 points. Brett Jackson and Trey Howard each chipped in 12 points. The game was highlighted by two monster dunks by Jackson and Langley down the stretch that helped seal the game for the Bearcats.
Brescia improves to (14-8) (8-4 KIAC) and have won six KIAC games in a row and sit in 3rd place in conference. Brescia next hosts the mighty Grenadiers of IU Southeast, the #2 team in the nation on Tuesday at 7pm in The Den.
