The Brescia baseball team took on the Huntington University Foresters on Saturday night in a doubleheader at Schadler Field.
Game 1 was a pitcher's duel. The Bearcats got on the board first in the second inning. Right Fielder Nick Woltermann's (SO, Fort Thomas, KY) two out RBI single plated Third Baseman Alex Hegge (SR, Bellevue, KY) for the game's first run. The Bearcats added another run in the third when Left Fielder Daniel Lokesak (JR, Florence, KY) doubled home Center Fielder Brady Reese (SO, Villa Hills, KY) to make the score 2-0. That's where the score would stay until the top of the sixth when Huntington Right Fielder Brock Gower's RBI fielder's choice plated Huntington's only run of the night.
Bearcat starter Andrew Shoulders (SR, Boonville, IN) picked up his third win of the year by tossing six innings of four hit, one run baseball. Closer Michael McIntosh (JR, Evansville, IN) picked up his fifth save of the year by working the seventh.

In game 2, the Bearcats again jumped out to an early lead. Third Baseman Alex Hegge singled home Left Fielder Daniel Lokesak in the bottom of the first. The Bearcats added another run in the bottom of the third when Designated Hitter Hank Stewart (SR, Cartersville, GA) singled home Shortstop Nate Crocker (SR, Porterville, CA) to push the lead to two. Huntington would answer back however in the top of the fifth when Shortstop Blake Ayers doubled home two runs to even the score. The Bearcats would bounce back with three in the bottom half of the inning when First Baseman Christian McHatton (JR, Henderson, KY) and Catcher Aaron King (SO, Waverly, KY) both drove in runs. The Bearcats would add another run in the inning thanks to a Huntington error.
Huntington wasn't done yet though as they answered with three more runs in the top of the sixth thanks to two Bearcat errors, again evening the score. This time at 5-5. The Bearcats again would have an answer, as McHatton came thru with a two run single and Second Baseman Vin Barbato (SR, Utica, NY) singled home another run to make the score 8-5.
Relief Pitcher Caleb McIntire (SO, Owensboro, KY) worked the Bearcats out of trouble in the seventh after Huntington got the tying run to the plate. McIntire picked up his first win of the year in relief, while working an inning and 1/3. Starting Pitcher Jackson Miles (SR, Indianapolis, IN) worked five and 2/3 innings allowing seven hits and two earned runs while taking the no decision.
