The Brescia baseball team hosted a doubleheader on Wednesday against Lindsey Wilson College at Schadler Field in Kamuf Park.
In game 1, Lindsey Wilson jumped on the board in the first on an RBI single by Jeandro Andino. Lindsey Wilson would add a run in the third on a solo homerun by Alex Bautista. The Bearcats would finally get on the board in the bottom of the fourth when Designated Hitter Aaron King (SO/Waverly, KY)'s bloop single to center scored three runs giving the Bearcats a 3-2 lead. Unfortunately for the Bearcats the lead would be short lived. Jake Roberts and Leandro Ramirez each drove in runs for Lindsey Wilson in the top of the fifth giving them back a 4-3 lead. Lindsey Wilson would add another run in the sixth on a solo homerun by Mitchell Osnowitz and two more runs in the seventh on two hits and a Bearcat error, as they went on to win game 1, 7-3.

In game 2, it would be the Bearcats who struck first when Second Baseman Eduardo Bermudez-Rosso (SO/Vieques, Puerto Rico)'s sacrifice fly drove home Shortstop Nate Crocker (SR/Porterville, CA) in the bottom of the second. The score would stay 1-0 until the top of the fifth when Lindsey Wilson pushed a run across thanks to a Bearcat error to tie the score 1-1. The Bearcats would answer in the bottom half of the inning with two runs of their own. Designated Hitter Hank Stewart (SR/Cartersville, GA)'s sacrifice fly would plate one run and First Baseman Christian McHatton (JR/Henderson, KY)'s RBI single would deliver another giving the Bearcats a 3-1 lead for good.
Bearcat Starter Zach Sciaccotta (JR/Elmwood Park, IL) would work five innings allowing one unearned run on three hits while striking out three. Sciaccotta improves to 4-4 on the year. Closer Michael McIntosh (JR/Evansville, IN) worked the final six outs allowing one hit for his eleventh save of the season. The save for McIntosh extends the single season record he set earlier in the year to eleven, while also setting a new career record for saves with eleven.
The win for the Bearcats is also their 33rd of the year tying the school record for wins in a season. The previous 33 win season was in 2009 when the Bearcats won the conference championship before advancing to the National Tournament. The Bearcats will be back on action Thursday at the University of Cincinnati-Clermont for a doubleheader before going to St. Catharine College for the final regular season game on Monday.
