With it being the Bearcats first appearance in the NAIA Division II National Tournament, it has also brought some new experiences for the team as well. Brescia's sponsor Arvest Bank, in particular Dana Crowell and Michelle Shroyer, have had some fun activities for the team so far in their time in Branson. Zip-lining was first up on the agenda for the Bearcats Monday afternoon and it was a fun experience for all of them. Most of them have not done anything like that before so not only were they in a place they have never been, but they also were getting to experience something they've never done and have fun doing it at the same time. The guys have created a bond and brotherhood this season, with the fear and some of the things they went through zip-lining, they became that much closer. Sophomore Trey Howard said "It was a good team-building experience for us. The 100 foot free fall at the end was very scary." Freshman Clay Stivers also added "It was a new experience for me. It was a lot of fun to watch some of my teammates go through it."
Tuesday night featured more firsts for the Bearcats. To get the tournament started, the NAIA hosted their annual Tip Off Banquet at the Dixie Stampede. There aren't many Dixie Stampede locations so most of the guys have not seen, nor heard about, what it actually is. It was a good show, good food, and a great way to Tip Off the Division II National Tournament.
Bearcats play #1 Indiana Wesleyan at 5:45pm on Wednesday, March 11 at The College of the Ozarks in Point Lookout, MO.
