Bearcats Making History in Branson
Men's Basketball - Wed, Mar. 11, 2015
The Bearcats are finishing up their final preparations for their first ever game in the NAIA Division II National Tournament. This has been a season for the record books for Coach Josh Gibson and his Bearcats, but they aren't done yet. They know they have a big task ahead of them as they have to face Indiana Wesleyan, who comes in as #1 in Division II, own a 31-2 record, and are the defending NAIA Division II National Champions. Coach Gibson had some final thoughts as the Bearcats are finishing up preparations, "We just have to focus on the process. We've made it to the National Tournament and that's an achievement in itself. I want our guys to play freely and to play without fear. No matter what the outcome, if we can leave it all out on the floor and know that each person gave everything they have for their teammates, then we can leave with no regrets. We made it this far and we are honored to represent Brescia University and the Owensboro Community." Coach Gibson also likes the way his team has handled these last few days of practice, "We've had great energy in practice, I feel like our guys are really locked in. We don't need to do anything special or different, we just need to do our ordinary things extraordinarily well." Coach is also very proud of everything this team has done this season, "I'm extremely proud of these guys and the team they've become. I'm proud of their achievements and everything they've accomplished this season. I hope that we play well enough this 40 minutes to earn ourselves another 40 minutes."
The Bearcats will be taking on #1 Indiana Wesleyan at 5:45pm at The College of the Ozarks in Point Lookout, MO.
