Brescia rallied from deficits of 22-3 and 35-15 to post a stirring 64-62 victory over host Oakland City in a women's college basketball; game Wednesday night at the Johnson Center in Oakland City, Ind.
Holly Simons scored on a putback with 1.6 seconds remaining to cap the comeback.
The Lady Bearcats (10-15) shot just 30 percent from the floor in the first half and still trailed the Mighty Oaks 36-25 at intermission.
Over the final 20 minutes, however, Brescia turned up the defensive pressure and limited Oakland City (8-12) to just 29 percent shooting.
Olivia Moore led BU with 14 points and nine rebounds, adding two assists and a blocked shot. Sarah King and Simons each produced 11 points and two steals.
Simons added six rebounds and Jessi Hodge dished a game-high eight assists and secured four steals.
Rinesha Soaper paced the Mighty Oaks with 18 points and four steals. Rachel Moore had 11 points and 10 rebounds, and Jane Parclay pulled down a game-best 12 rebounds.
