Coach Kendal Connor enters her first season for the dance and cheer teams at Brescia University. In addition to coaching at Brescia, Coach Connor is the assistant coach at Daviess County High School for the Varsity Dance Team (2012-present). She contributed to the many titles and accomplishments the team has earned over the past 5 years including the recent two State Titles at KDCO State Championship, and placing 4th and 6th in Hip-Hop and Pom categories at NDA Nationals. Coach Connor is a graduate of Trinity High School (2011) where she danced for 5 years starting as an 8th grader at St. Mary of the Woods. She graduated from Owensboro Community and Technical College in 2016 with an Associates in Arts.
Prior to coaching at Brescia, Coach Connor has volunteered with several dance and cheer teams with coaching and choreography. She has choreographed for several teams for the past 10 years.
Coach Chelsie Staples enters her first year as the assistant cheer and dance coach at Brescia University. Chelsie, has over 20 years of dance experience with 12 of the years in coaching. She attended Western Kentucky University where she was a member of the 2005 NDA National Champion Team. After graduating college she returned to her hometown of Henderson, KY to pursue her coaching career with the Henderson County Colonelettes along with opening up Fierce Dance Studio in 2015. The Colonelettes have finished in the top 10 at NDA Nationals since 2012, also adding 2 - 2nd place finishes in Hip Hop and winning the coveted title of National Champion in Pom in 2012. She is excited to expand her coaching career to the collegiate level.
Chelsie, is a 2006 graduate of Western Kentucky University where she received a degree in fashion design and merchandising. She is a 2001 graduate of Henderson County High School. She resides in Henderson, KY with her husband Cory Staples, and 3 wonderful kids - Luke, Livi, and Remi Kate
Coach Debbie Connor enters her first year as one of Brescia University's Cheer/Dance assistant coaches. Debbie is currently in her 6th year as head dance coach at Daviess County High School where she has had a very successful program since she started there.
While at Daviess, she, along with assistant coach Kendal Connor (daughter) led the team to 5 consecutive 3rd, 4th & 5th regions Grand Champion titles, three Kentucky State titles, a Jam Fest National Championship & many 1st place championships through the years. Her coaching career began at Trinity High School (Whitesville, KY) in 2002. She spent 9 years at Trinity and led her team to a Regional Grand Championship along with several 1st place titles.
Debbie, is a 1985 graduate of Central High School in Evansville, IN. She is a 1999 graduate of Owensboro Community College, where she received her Associate in Applied Science Business Technology.
Debbie along with her husband Scott Connor have 3 daughters, Amanda Morris, Tara Groves & Kendal Connor and have 4 grandchildren.
