Mike Gray enters his second year as Brescia University's Head Women's Basketball Coach. Gray had been an assistant for both the men's and women's basketball teams for Brescia University. Under Head Coach Pechota, Gray was part of a 2011-12 Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Tournament Champion runner-up team. Under Head Coach Quesenberry in 2015-2016, Gray was part of going to the KIAC Conference Tournament Semi-finals. Gray graduated from Kentucky Wesleyan College 1997 with a Bachelor's degree in Physical Education. In 2014, he earned a Master's degree in Biblical Studies at Newburgh Theological Seminary. Coach Gray and his wife, Sherry, reside in Owensboro.
Coach Keith Piersawl enters his first year as the Brescia University Women's Basketball assistant coach. Keith, comes to our program after a highly successful 12 year assistant coaching career with the Owensboro Catholic High School girls program. While at Catholic, he was very instrumental in player development. He was a part of three 3rd region title teams, two Kentucky All A State Championships led by current Duke player and 2013 McDonald's All-American Rebecca Greenwell. His coaching career began in the Catholic Middle School program in 2003. He spent four summers as an AAU coach in the very successful Evansville Swish Program. During his time at SWISH, 10 of his players went on to play collegiate basketball.
Keith, is a 1988 graduate of Montgomery County High School in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky. He was two-time All-State honorable mention and a two-time 10th region selection. He signed collegiately with Drury University in 1988 and later transferred to Wilberforce University. He had a very successful basketball career under the late Ohio coaching legend, Ben Waterman. He is a 1993 graduate of Wilberforce University, where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications and his Master’s degree from Eastern Kentucky University in 1995 in Student Personnel Counseling.
He is married to Krysti Estes Piersawl.
