Luke Stoffel is entering his second year as the head men’s and women’s cross country and track and field coach. He came to Brescia after spending five years at the University of Saint Francis in Fort Wayne, Ind. Coach Stoffel started as a volunteer assistant coach for USF and quickly moved up to the assistant coach for men’s and women’s cross country and track and field. His final year at USF he was named head men’s and women’s cross country coach along with his assistant responsibilities for track and field. While at USF, Coach Stoffel was primarily responsible for coaching the men and women distance runners. Prior to his departure, the men’s and women’s distance record books were nearly re-written.
Before beginning his coaching career, Stoffel ran both cross country and track at Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion, Ind. He graduated from IWU in 2008, earning his bachelor’s degree in sports management. While at IWU, Stoffel was a member of the 2005 NAIA Cross County National Qualifying team. He was also a two-time (2005, 2006) NAIA Indoor Track and Field National Qualifier in the 3,000 meters and a 2005 NAIA Outdoor Track and Field National Qualifier in the 5,000 meters.
Luke, his wife Christy, and daughter Isabella reside in Owensboro.
