Coach Dickson enters his third season at helm of the Bearcat program. Dickson returned as an alumnus of Brescia University after earning his Bachelor’s degree in Integrated Studies in 2012. Prior to being named head coach of the Bearcats, Dickson spent time as an assistant in 2013. He then went to conference foe, IU Southeast (NAIA) in 2014 and 2015 as an Assistant and Recruiting Coordinator.
In Dickson’s first two seasons back at Brescia, he led the Bearcats to back-to-back 6th place finishes in the KIAC and the RSC regular season, earning consecutive post season berths.
In the 2016 season the Bearcats finished 4th in the KIAC tournament, and picked up a conference tournament win over Asbury University.
During his time at IU Southeast, he was a part of back-to-back KIAC runner up finishes in 2014, and 2015. He also coached for the Oneonta Outlaws of the New York Collegiate Baseball League during the summer of 2015 and helped guide the Outlaws to an Eastern Division Title and runner up finish in the League Championship.
Dickson is a native of Oneonta, New York where he played baseball at Oneonta Senior High School. He attended Mohawk Valley Community College in Utica, New York where he was a two-year starter at second base, and was named a team captain for his sophomore year. Dickson helped lead the Hawks to consecutive regional final four appearances.
Following his time at MVCC, Dickson attended Brescia University where he became a utility man and started games in six different positions for the Bearcats. Dickson then graduated from Brescia with a Bachelor’s degree in Integrated Studies before returning to help coach the Bearcats in 2012-2013.
Chad Cox is a 2016 graduate of Brescia University in Owensboro, KY with a degree in Sports Management and Psychology. Chad played for four years for the Bearcats as a starting and relief pitcher. At the conclusion of the 2016 season, Chad was named Brescia’s recipient of the KIAC conference Champion of Character award winner. In addition, he was voted by his teammates as baseball’s representative and received Brescia’s Leadership Award. Prior to coming to Brescia, Chad was at Bismarck State College in Bismarck, ND for one year.
After graduating, Chad was a coach for the Paducah (KY) Chiefs, a summer collegiate league team, who is a member of the Ohio Valley League. Chad was the first base coach and had other duties.
In addition to playing collegiately for Brescia, Chad played four years of summer collegiate baseball. His first two years were with the Madisonville (KY) Pirates of the Ohio Valley League and then he played two summers for Clarinda (IA) A’s of the MINK league. He was a starting and relief pitcher for both teams.
Chad graduated from Community Christian Academy in Paducah, KY. Chad played baseball for six years for the Warriors. He was named All-Region as a pitcher his senior year. He was the first player from his high school to receive that honor.
