Bowling Introduces New Coaches

OWENSBORO, KY – The Brescia University Athletics Department welcomes new men’s and women’s bowling head coaches in Dalton Karstens (Men’s) and Samantha Bugno (Women’s). BU had recently added the two bowling programs this past summer along with the other 18 institution sports.

Karstens and Bugno are both graduates of Kentucky Wesleyan College where they were a part of the bowling program for multiple years before graduating. Dalton was the co-captain of the men’s team from 2019-2024 while also being a representative for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) and the Student Athletes Activity Committee (SAAC). He was also the 2020 Doug Kinsley Award winner for being considered the heart and soul of the men’s team. Karstens graduated with his Bachelor of Science Degree in Exercise Science with an emphasis in health and fitness.

Bugno was a volunteer assistant coach for both programs at KWC during the 2023-24 season. She was also a part of the women’s program from 2018-22.

We want to welcome both coaches as they take the helm of their programs this season.

The men’s and women’s programs are both actively recruiting for the upcoming season.
