Men's Basketball Headed to Postseason
KOKOMO, In. – The Brescia University men’s basketball team took a loss in their final regular season game to IU Kokomo, 81-78. The Bearcats are slated as the #4 seed in the West Division and will travel to take on the #1 seed in the East Division, Shawnee State.

BU paced with the RV Cougars up until the eight-minute mark where Kokomo began to pull away. Jordan Cooke put a stop to the run as the Bearcats began to cut into the 15-point lead. Back-to-back three-point plays put the Bearcats right back into the game as they racked up a 13-2 run. Linkin Lockhart led the Bearcats in scoring the first half of this matchup with 13 on 4-7 shooting and four free throws.
BU came out of the break fired up as the defense forced three Cougar turnovers that then turned into points. Braden Waller's three gave the Bearcats their first lead of the game at 47-45, as Kokomo burned a timeout. With the six-point advantage, the Bearcats struggled from the floor after the hot start. Two consecutive baskets regained the lead for IUK as the teams battled for the lead. Kokomo earned their final points in the paint as they defeated BU 81-78.
Lockhart led with 18 points on 6-18 shooting with eight rebounds and two assists. Three Bearcats had 12 points in Jordan Cooke, Braden Waller, and Israel Momodu. Alex Evans added 11 points from the bench with three threes.
The Bearcats will travel to Portsmouth, OH for the first round of the RSC Tournament as they face Shawnee State. Earlier in the month, the Bearcats hosted Shawnee State as they dropped the matchup, 99-62. Lockhart led the team with 14 points.
