Men's Soccer Deadlocks Panthers in Crosstown Rivalry
OWENSBORO, Ky. – The Brescia University men’s soccer team continued their non-conference campaign with a crosstown rivalry matchup with the Kentucky Wesleyan Panthers. The Bearcats extended their record to 1-4-2 following the tie with the Panthers at Panther Field.
OWENSBORO, Ky. – The Brescia University men's soccer team continued their non-conference campaign with a crosstown rivalry matchup with the Kentucky Wesleyan Panthers. The Bearcats extended their record to 1-4-2 following the tie with the Panthers at Panther Field.
The Panthers held majority of the possession throughout the first half until KWC scored early in the 26th minute on a cross-field header. Iker Pertusa Riquelme knotted the score at one goal apiece in the 40th minute before the break. Pau Gelabert kept the Panthers scoreless throughout the second half, never relinquishing another goal. The Bearcats seal the tie for just the third time in the history of the matchup.
The Bearcats will host a neutral site game at the Lou City Soccer Fields in Louisville, KY against Mount Vernon Nazarene.
