Men's Volleyball Earns #6 Seed in RSC Tournament
MIDWAY, Ky. / RICHMOND, In. – The Men’s Volleyball team secured their position in the postseason as the #6 seed following their last two regular season wins. The Bearcats ended the season with an overall record of 12-14 and 7-9 in RSC play.

Friday @ Midway: Bearcats 3 Midway 0 (26-24, 25-20. 25-20)
After a slow start in set one, the Bearcats held on for the opening game win before exploding through sets two and three for the sweep.
Bounce Back Bearcats
Midway made set one interesting with a close set as the Bearcats hit a match low of .056. BU bounced back in set two to hit .350 as they got within a set of the sweep over the Eagles. Brescia struggled to get past the Eagles' front line as they out-blocked BU 25-12. Nonetheless, Brescia came out victorious after a three-game sweep.
Offensive Output
- Freshman, Malo Vanderwalle led with 8 kills on 15 attempts, hitting .400
- Freshman, Remi Pit, added 7 kills on 13 attempts, hitting .385
- Senior, Mustafa Yildiz had 6 kills on 15 chances with 2 total blocks
- Setter duo of Will Hernandez and Finn Berger combined for 29 assists
Defensive Production
- Miguel Veloso earned 15 digs in the match
- Joaquin Palacios totaled 4 block assists
- Remi Pit added 3 blocks
Saturday @ IU East: Bearcats 3 IU East 1 (25-23, 25-21, 23-25, 25-17)
Bearcats finished out the regular season at IU East where they beat the Red Wolves in a four-set match. BU settled the first two sets with wins as IUE forced a set four. Brescia commanded the final set from start to finish to earn the win.
Team Efficiency and Balanced Offense
- The Bearcat team hit .272 in the match with 36 total kills
- Yildiz led with 8 kills and a percentage of .333
- Pit followed with 7 kills on 15 chances
- Vanderwalle with 5 kills and 10 digs
- Haris Hasicevic, Miguel Pereira, and Ben Zerwes all played a part in the kill column
UP NEXT
The Bearcats finish the regular season as the #6 seed and will participate in the River States Conference Tournament. BU will travel to the #3 seed Oakland City Tuesday, April 14 at 7pm.
