Men's Cross Country Preview

Owensboro, KY - Head Coach Luke Stoffel is proud to announce the addition of three men cross country runners to the 2017 roster. Coach Stoffel's successful recruiting has nearly doubled the number of athletes from the previous year. Incoming freshmen on the men's team this year are Austin Shackleford, Devin Roche, and De'Ontae Washington.

"I am very happy with the young men and women that make up our freshmen class. I continually heard from the different coaches and administration how I was getting, not just quality athletes, but stand up individuals who will represent Brescia in a very positive way," said Coach Stoffel.

Combining the newcomers with a solid group of returners should bring significant improvement within the conference meet come November. Preseason River States Conference rankings put the men's team in 7th of 12.

"I am excited about the growth of the program up to this point and look forward to getting this season of competition underway. We have had several good practices since the athletes have returned to campus and I believe we are right where we need to be," said Coach Stoffel.

The men will open up the year this Friday, September 8th in Bowling Green, Ky. They will compete in The Arthur J. Sciubba Cross Country Invitational, with the men's race starting at 6:30pm CST.
