Men's Cross Country Competes at Greater Louisville Classic
The Brescia University Men and Women's Cross Country teams raced in the Greater Louisville Classic Sept. 29, which is one of the largest cross country meets hosted in the United States each year.
The men's team started off the day for the Bearcats by racing the 8k at 12 p.m. ET. Team captain Kyle Robinson (SR, Henderson, Ky) finished in 76th place out of the 275 runners in the men's silver race with a season best time of 27:57.6.
Preston Glazebrook (JR, Providence, Ky) made his season debut with a time of 36:48.6, good for 267th place in the race.
Devin Watts (FR, Hopkinsville, Ky) set a new personal record (PR) in the race, running a 37:16.7, good for 269th place. This was Watts' second ever 8k race and he knocked over five minutes off of his previous PR (42:02).
Head Coach Luke Stoffel said, "I was very pleased with how our athletes competed today. On the men's side Kyle ran a season best and is setting himself up nicely for his season goals. Preston came out and ran his first race of the season and it was good to see him finish, he has been dealing with a nagging injury since his freshman year. Devin dropped significant time for a PR and I expect he will continue to see significant drops."
The Men and Women's Bearcats will compete against on Oct. 6th when they co-host the Fast Cats Classic at Yellow Creek Park.
