Bearcats Place Eighth at Drakes Creek Scramble

The Brescia men's cross country team began its season at the Drakes Creek Scramble, placing eighth in the meet.

While the men's team typically competes in an 8k, the Bearcats started the season with a 5k to get back in the racing mentality.

The team was led by Benjamin Brown (FR, Memphis, Mich.), who ran the 5k in 17:50 and finished in 47th place.

The Bearcats next three runners, Wes Wheatley (FR, Hawesville, Ky.), Tyler Walz (FR, Hawesville, Ky.), and James Barrow (FR, Elizabethtown, Ky.), each finished within one minte if each other, running 20:01, 20:35, and 20:48, respectively.

Ethan Dooley (FR, Hopkinsville, Ky.) finished fifth on the team, running a 21:22.

The men's cross country team will be back in action on September 20 at 2:30 p.m., when the team races in the National Catholic Invitational at the University of Notre Dame.
