Men's XC 2020 Season Preview
The Brescia University men's cross country will begin its season on September 11 at the Indiana Wesleyan University Twilight Classic.
"I'm excited to see how the first meet of the season goes," said Head Coach Luke Stoffel. "We have a young team, one that is fully comprised of freshmen and sophomores. I believe several of our sophomores will take a step forward this season and I look forward to seeing how the freshmen adjust to the 8k."
The Bearcats were voted ninth in the River States Conference Coaches' Preseason Poll, but Stoffel believes the team will place higher. "We finished higher than our initial ranking last season and I see no reason why we can't do the same this season," said Stoffel.
The program recruited seven freshmen to join the four returning student-athletes. "We will have a lot of competition for our top five spots this season. Our ability to have a competitive atmosphere at practice has helped us prepare for the late start we had due to COVID-19," said Stoffel.
