After their historic 11-6 season, the Bearcats looked to continue their run in the tournament against the Golden Bears. This game was nothing short of exciting as it took 110 minutes and a shootout to determine the winner. The Bearcats only had four opportunities to net the ball as the Golden Bear defense proved their significance in the match. Laura Thompson showed her ability in goal as 14 of the 22 shots by Tech were saved by the young goalie.
After regulation, the first-round matchup went into double overtime to break the deadlock. The extra 20 minutes still wasn't enough as the match went into a shootout. The Golden Bears out-shot the Bearcats, 4-2, to take the match and advance to the RSC Semifinals.
The Bearcats finished the season 11-7 overall and 6-4 in conference play.
