Asbury's Invitational Tournament

Brescia Women's Tennis Team had a match this past Friday. Eleni Stravolemos was defeated 6-0, 6-2 by Alejandra Diaz - AU in the second round after receiving a first round bye. Hannah-Joy Simms won against Jerika Smith – OCU by 6-1, 6-0 advancing for the second round which Simms got another win for the Bearcats against Morgan Jackson – IUE by 6-3, 6-2. Mazvita Ngorosha falls on the first round against Alexandra Lerma – AU by 6-0, 6-0. Toni Keeling the sophomore of the team also falls against Krystal Schmidt – IUE by 6-2, 6-1. Danielle Mattis falls against Ashlyn Hubbard – IUE with a score of 6-1, 6-2.

Elizabeth Ratlif gave the Bearcats another win on the first round defeating Chelsi Mason – OCU by 6-3, 6-1 but falls on the second round against Hallee Miller – IUS by 6-2, 6-1. In doubles, Stravolemos and Simms lost on the first round against Mendez/Jackson - IUE by 8-2. Ngorosha and Mattis also fall on the first round agains Carter/Smith - OCU by 8-0. Also, Keeling and Ratlif fall against Dreadfulwater/Dreadfulwater - MU by 8-5.

On Saturday, the matches continued. Stravolemos fell against Tamerra Horton – IUS by 6-3, 6-4. Giovana Kelm – AU got a win due to a walkover over Simms. Abby Stroup – OCU defeats Ngorosha by 7-6(1), 6-1. Keeling played two matches and got defeated by Katie McCoy – IUK 6-1, 6-0 and also by Raquel Tyo – MU 6-3, 6-4. Mattis got the win for the Bearcats against Athina Peterson – OCU by 6-4, 6-3 but ends up falling next round by Kelsey Kohlmorgen – IUK 6-1, 6-0. Ratlif played Allie Sutton – AU but fell by 6-0, 6-0. On doubles, Stravolemos and Simms defeated Johnston-Stroup – OCU by 8-0 but ended up losing on the next round by Winchell/Applegate - IUS 8-3. After a bye, Ngorosha and Mattis got defeated on the second round by Ward/Kohlmorgen - IUK 8-2. Keeling and Ratlif fell again against Sayre/Abrahamson - IUK by 8-1.
