Women's Tennis Set to Begin Season
The Brescia women's tennis team opens its Fall season on Friday, August 30, at the River States Conference (RSC) Individual Tournament.
"[Our goal is to] Get back to the basics of fundamental tennis," said Head Coach Will Riley. "We are working on getting in shape, conditioning, technique, consistency, and footwork."
"This fall I would like to see the team come together and work on training," said Toni Keeling (JR, Bardstown, Ky.). "We have a new coach and he has a plan, one that will not only push the team to do better, but will get us into shape for the Spring."
The Bearcats opening tournament of the year, the RSC Individual Tournament, pits each team's top ranked player and doubles pairs against eachother in a bracket format.
As of now, there are seven RSC teams scheduled to attend.
"It's gonna be a tough one. Each player should get a few games. Our goal is to play good tennis and see improvement," said Riley.
After the opening tournament, the Bearcats will travel to Oakland City, Indiana to take on Oakland City University on September 22nd.
The Bearcats will conclude its Fall season on October 26th, when the team plays in-city rival Kentucky Wesleyan College.
Brescia starts its season this coming Friday and Saturday in Nicholasville, Kentucky in the RSC Individual Tournament.
