Track and Field Competes at RSC Championship
MARIETTA Oh. – The Brescia University men’s and women’s track and field team competed at the River States Conference Indoor Championship this past weekend. The women finished 8th out of the 11 teams while the men finished 10th of 10 teams.

Alliyah Thomas got active this weekend as she set two school records in the 55-meter hurdles on both days. She placed 5th in the preliminaries for the hurdles with a time of 8.99 and placed 2nd in the finals with a time of 9.08. Abigail Walker ran alongside Thomas as she finished 14th overall. The duo of Thomas and Faith Mpassy followed 5th and 6th in the women's long jump for the Bearcats with marks of 5.03m and 4.99m. Mpassy also cross the finish line in the women's 800m in 7th with a time of 2:32.23. Hannah Grosshans finished 13th in the women's weight throw prelims with a distance of 9.28m then finished 19th in the finals with a throw of 8.39m. Kaitlyn Orange, the women's Champion of Character, finished 6th in the pole vault in her second year with the team. Mallory Wilson rounded out the women's side finishing 16th in the women's one mile run.
On the men's side of the track, the 4000m distance team in Daniel Aikas, Xavi Del Monte, Brody Kurz, and Blake Mullins finished in 7th for BU. Kurz also competed in the one mile run where he finished 20th with a time of 5:48 flat. Aikas gave the Bearcats two more points after finishing 7th in the 1000m run as Del Monte finished 19th overall.
The Bearcats finish the indoor season at the national qualifiers as the outdoor season quickly approaches.
