Women's Cross Country Competes at National Catholic Invitational
Friday, September 15th the Women's Cross Country team traveled to the University of Notre Dame to compete amongst 29 other women's teams in the National Catholic Invitational. The race was taken out fast on the very flat course. The Brescia Women's team ran similar times to their previous meet just a week earlier, with the exception of Autumn Tonkins, who dropped a whopping one minute and twelve seconds off of her 5k PR. The team was led by Madeline Jones with a time of 22:22.9 followed by Alexis Kaufer 25:13.2, Ashlie Carpenter 26:46.2, and Autumn Tonkins 26:47.0.
Head Coach Luke Stoffel had this to say, "With back to back weekends of racing, I am extremely happy with where our ladies are at. Even though the women compete at the same distance they did in high school, there are major differences at the collegiate level, differences that will take time to adjust to. Autumn ran a great race and I see her continuing to shave time off her personal best throughout the season."
The Women will be competing next at the Greater Louisville Classic on Saturday September 30, 2017.
