Women's XC Competes at IWU Twilight
The women's cross country team raced its first meet of the 2020 season on September 11th, traveling to Marion, Indiana to compete at the IWU Twilight.
Abagale Huelsman (SO, Fort Branch, Ind.) led the way for the Bearcats, opening her sophomore season with a 21:20 5k -- smashing her fastest time of last season by 1:33.
Raegan Halley (SO, McLeansboro, Ill.) was next to cross the line for the Bearcats, completing the course in 24:48. Marianne Glaziner (SO, Terre Haute, Ind.) followed closely behind, running a 25:26.
Newcomer Morgan Curry (FR, Hawesville, Ky.) and returner Mckenzie Severs (SO, Hawesville, Ky.) rounded out the top five.
"The women's team raced hard. We were without the full team today, but I thought they competed well," said Assistant Coach Kyle Robinson. "Not having a track season threw some people off their rhythm, so we will only get better from here."
The women's cross country team will be back in action on September 19th when the team travels to Richmond, Indiana to compete in the IU East Run with the Wolves Invite.
