Bearcats Win Series Over #23 Grenadiers
OWENSBORO, Ky. – The Brescia University baseball team defeated IU Southeast in a three-game series for the first time in 20 years. The Bearcats have split four-game series with the Grenadiers in past seasons but never surmounted a series win. The wins solidified back-to-back 20-win seasons for BU.

Game 1: Bearcats 21, #23 Grenadiers 1
The Bearcats offense showed up early and often in the run-rule victory to take game one of the series.

Brian Gonzalez pitched all 7 innings for the Bearcats allowing just 7 hits and 1 run, shutting down the Grenadiers.
Game 2: Bearcats 11, #23 Grenadiers 8
BU took game two in comeback fashion to take the series lead and win for the first time in 20 years. The 11-8 win also signified the 20th victory for the Bearcats.
Brescia Takes Early Lead
Following a double, Joseph Massa scored on an error after Grant Huebner's line out to short. IUS leveled the game with a home run to left field. Miguel Marcos took advantage of the at bat after another defensive miscue by the Grenadiers as he answered with a two-run shot to take the lead.
Productive Innings
Two home runs by Bearcats Chase Christie and Grant Huebner led to a four-run inning for Buto take a 7-2 advantage in the bottom of the seventh inning. The Grenadiers climbed their way back to take the lead in the top of the eighth with six runs of their own. The Bearcats put the ball in play to force errors following a double and a walk. An error by the third baseman allowed Houston Flynn to score on the Mitchuson ground ball. Kyle Brown hit the go-ahead towering shot over the left field wall to take the three-run lead.
Game 3: Bearcats 1, #23 Grenadiers 15
The Bearcats' offense slowed entirely in game three as they fell in the series finale, 15-1. IUS out-hit BU 14-6 in the loss.
Offensive Notes
- Lucas Feldman and Huebner tabbed two hits each and had four of the six hits
