WOMEN'S BASKETBALL FALLS TO WVU TECH AT HOME
OWENSBORO, Ky. - The Brescia University women's basketball team fell to the visiting Golden Bears of WVU Tech on Tuesday night with a final score of, 72-59. The Lady Bearcats extend their overall record to 1-14 and 0-6 in RSC play.

As the Golden Bears win the tip, they would take no time scoring first on a layup. Linsdey Peyton would even the score up with a jumper of her own on the very next play. Fouls and missed shots would litter the Bearcats as they found themselves down 19-11 to finish the first quarter. To start the second quarter, Madelyn Lyon would cut the lead to four for the Bearcats on a tough layup. The Golden Bears would go on a 9-2 run as the Bearcats faltered in transition. Coach Gray would call a timeout and look to the bench to continue the second quarter. Going into the half, the Bearcats would find themselves in a 15 point deficit as Tech would lead, 38-23.
Coming out of the locker rooms, BU would begin a full court press to force the Golden Bears to hurry their offense as the Bearcats start a 7-2 run. The Golden Bears would keep the commanding lead until turnovers gave the Brescia offense time to set up plays of their own. The 10-2 run for BU would cut the Golden Bear lead to just five ending the third quarter. Fouls for the Bearcats would continue to be their demise as the Golden Bears begin to run away with the lead. The Lady Bearcats could not get shots to fall as WVU Tech would take the win, 72-59.
Lindsey Peyton would lead the pack with 17 points and 9 rebounds while Madelyn Lyon would follow with 8 points and 10 rebounds. Paige Vanzant would go 7-8 at the charity stripe for a total of 9 points.
The Bearcats will travel to Pippa Passes, Ky to take on Alice Lloyd on Saturday, Jan. 7th with a tip-off time of 1 pm CT.
