Lady Bearcats Fall to Bethel in Cross-Conference Matchup
MCKENZIE, TN – The Brescia University women’s basketball team picked up their sixth loss of the season to the 9-2 Wildcats of Bethel University. Bethel routed the Bearcats to a 71-45 victory in the cross-conference matchup.

Despite the margin of victory at the end of the fourth quarter, the Bearcats led the Wildcats 9-2 with six minutes left in the first. The BU offense continued to connect offensively as they held an 18-15 lead at the end of the first quarter. At the start of the second, the Bearcat offense would go stagnant as they only were able to rack up seven points to the Wildcats' 24.
Coming out of the half, interim head coach Nick Chaykowsky, started full court pressure as they attempt to cut the Bethel deficit. Ultimately, the Bearcats were incapable of making the comeback as the Wildcats continued to force the lead further away. The Bearcats would drop the contest, 71-45, and extend their record to 4-6 on the year.
After a quiet few games, Lindsey Peyton was the Bearcats leading scorer with 15 points and four rebounds as Paige Vanzant and Genesis Ghide-Bryan each tabbed nine points.
The Lady Bearcats take the court again this coming Saturday as they face IU East in Richmond, IN with a tip-off time of 12pm CT.
