Bearcats Struggle in Loss to Bethel

OWENSBORO, KY – The Wildcats of Bethel (TN) proved to be the better 3-0 team Tuesday night as they took the matchup with a final score of 87-61. The Bearcats dropped to 3-1 on the season following the loss.

BU struggled in the first two quarters, putting up just 22-points for the entire half. The Wildcats built on their lead in the second quarter, outscoring the Bearcats 33-12. The Bearcats offense ramped up in the third quarter as BU outscored the Wildcats 22-15 to get within reach of the 19-point deficit. Turnovers hindered the Bearcat offense as Bethel turned 38 of their 87 points into scores off the giveaways.

Brooklyn Stewart led all scorers with 15-points with seven of them coming from the foul line. Cassidy Morris followed with 12-points of her own as she went a perfect 10-10 from the line. Caroline Lucas was the last scorer for the Bearcats in double-digits with 11 as she went 5-7 from the field.

The Lady Bearcats will regroup as they take on UNOH at home this coming Saturday with a 1pm tip-off.
