OWENSBORO, KY – The Brescia University women's basketball team moved to 14-6 on the year and 6-4 in RSC play following their dominate win over Alice Lloyd, 86-58, at home.
The Eagles started off the game going on a 7-0 run in the first few minutes. Jordan Joe broke the Bearcat silence with a layup off the offensive rebound chance. Alice Lloyd still held a nine-point lead until Graci Risley checked into the game. She was the spark the Bearcats needed as her three-pointer to end the quarter shrunk the Eagle lead. On back-to-back possessions, Risley sank two more three in 30 seconds to get the Bearcats within two. A three by Landree Moons took the lead for BU as they never relinquished it the rest of the matchup.
Coming out of the half, Shelbie Beatty built on the Bearcat's nine-point lead with a made shot behind the arc. The bench ran deep for BU as the platoon put up 43 of the Bearcat's 86 points. BU shot almost 50% from the field as they dominated the Eagles in the 86-58 win.
Caroline Lucas led the Bearcats with 17 points and a team high seven rebounds. Graci Risley followed with 15 points, sinking five threes as two other Bearcats reached double-digits.
The Bearcats will travel to Terre Haute, IN this coming Tuesday to take on St. Mary of the Woods at 6:30pm CT.
