MIDDLETOWN, Oh. – The River States Conference released the 2025-26 Women's Basketball Preseason Poll. The Bearcats are slated to finish in 3rd place, the highest since the 2015-16 season.
After a historic season, the Bearcats look to build off their success in the upcoming year. BU finished 20-8 overall, 11-5 in RSC play, and first in the West Division in the 2024-25 surge. Besides the Covid year allowing every team into the RSC Tournament, the Bearcats haven't hosted the RSC First Round since the 2015-16 season against Point Park. This past season, BU hosted Midway where the Bearcats came out with an 86-73 victory. BU fell in the semifinal round to Shawnee State on the road.
The young Bearcat team lost five players from last year's team but gained five to replace those missing spots. Cassidy Morris is the only senior on the squad this season as she returned for her last year.
Notable Returners:
- Caroline Lucas (5'9 Guard): Sophomore who started and played in 28 games last season. The RSC Second Team All-Conference winner lead the Bearcats in 13 points/game, averaged 3.8 rebounds/game, and 1.6 steals/game.
- Jenna Krampe (5'9 Guard/Forward): Sophomore who led the nation in FG% at 72.2%. Krampe started in 27 games where she averaged 8.6 points/game and 8.1 rebounds/game. Also, an RSC Second Team All-Conference winner.
- Graci Risley (5'9 Guard): Former Kentucky Wesleyan transfer who averaged 40.2% from beyond the arc.
- Cassidy Morris (5'10 Forward): Only senior on the team who averages 9 points/game, 6.8 rebounds/game, and a 44.4 field goal percentage.
Notable Newcomers:
- Kassady London (5'10 Guard): Freshman from Metcalfe County High School who finished as the 2nd all-time leading scorer in the program.
