OWENSBORO, KY – The Brescia University women's soccer team fails to complete the second half comeback as they fall to the Trolls of Trinity Christian, 6-3. The Bearcats extend their record to 1-3 on the season.
The Trolls would start with the ball first as the first whistle blew for kickoff. TTC would take the lead in the 8th minute of play with a shot to the bottom right corner of the goal. The Trinity offense would continue to split the defense with good touches and score three more consecutive goals within 10 minutes. The Bearcats were sluggish during the first half but made a turnaround in the second as they changed formations to adapt to the Trolls' defense.
Although the Trolls would net their fifth goal of the game out of half, the Bearcats would find their first points off the foot of Payton Willis who would net a pass from Isabella McChessney across field. BU would start to find their rhythm as Willis would net her second goal of the game six minutes later again on a pass from McChessney.
The Bearcats were able to score a third goal Kylie Smith was able to be at the right place at the right time to bump the ball in the goal off the corner kick from Mia Grosshans. Unfortunately, the clock ran down too quickly for the Bearcats to complete a comeback as they drop the contest, 6-3.
