RICHMOND, IN – The Brescia University women's soccer team were bested by the Redwolves of IU-East this past Saturday as they dropped the contest, 2-0. The Bearcats extend their record to 3-9 overall and 2-5 in RSC play.
The Bearcats would have their matchup against conference rival, IU-east. In last year's contest, the Redwolves defeated the Bearcats 6-1 with Maci Uffelman being the lone Bearcat scorer. Uffelman, the team's leading scorer this year, would be out this game due to a questionable red card call from the contest against Midway. The BU defense would keep the Redwolves scoreless through the first half while also lacking opportunities to score themselves. With the 0-0 mentality coming into the second half, IU-East would score their first goal in the 78th minute to take the 1-0 lead. A yellow card called on goalie, Ashby Greenwell, would give the Redwolves a penalty kick that would net their second and final goal of the match in the 84th minute. The Bearcats were unable to equalize within the final minutes as they fall to another conference opponent.
The Redwolves outshot the Bearcats 23-2 with four corner kicks with the only two shots coming off the feet of Payton Willis and Nicole Grisso.
The Bearcats head to Kokomo, IN Saturday, October 21 to take on the Cougars of IU-Kokomo for one of their three final matches of the regular season.
