Women's Volleyball Grabs First Sweep of the Season
ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Brescia University women’s volleyball team improved to a .500 record on the year following their sweep of UHSP on the road. With the three-set win, the Bearcats extend their record to 5-5 on the season and are on a two-game win streak.

Kendyn Syfert started her big day in the first set as her kill gave the Bearcats a 4-2 lead. BU maintained a steady two to three-point lead over most of set one. A kill by Chandlyr Friend extended the BU's lead to five over UHSP. Callie Mason sealed the set one winner with a kill on the set by Cheaney Archer for a final score of 25-22. The Eutectics quickly drained the Bearcat's momentum as they led set two on a 6-1 run. BU battled back from the deficit to tie the match at 22 on a kill and an attack error by UHSP. BU took set two 25-22 following an impressive comeback. After a 20-18 lead in the third set, the Bearcats went on a 5-0 run to end the match with a shutout.
Kendyn Syfert tallied 15 kills for a .310 hitting percentage while adding seven digs. Cheaney Archer assisted her teammates 27 times in the match with four kills on seven chances. Campbell McBride and Chandlyr Friend combined for 23 kills on the night.
The Bearcats return home this coming Tuesday, Sep. 9, as they take on Fisk in The Den at 6pm.
