Women's Volleyball Splits in Day Two of BU Classic
OWENSBORO, Ky. – The Brescia University women’s volleyball team split with Webber International and Bethel (TN) in day two of the BU Classic. The Bearcats extend their record to 3-5 on the year.

OWENSBORO, Ky. – The Brescia University women's volleyball team split with Webber International and Bethel (TN) in day two of the BU Classic. The Bearcats extend their record to 3-5 on the year.
Match One: Webber International 3 Bearcats 1
After going five-sets in the win in match one against the Warriors on Friday, the Bearcats struggled in day two against the Florida team. BU struggled offensively to keep the ball down on the court in set one as the Warriors took the 25-12 set one win. The Bearcats bounced back in set two as they took a 10-point victory over WIU. Webber succeeded in taking sets three and four to win the match in four sets.
The Bearcats tallied 86 digs in the match with five players in double digits. Cheaney Archer had 27 assists to go with her 17 digs.
Match Two: Bearcats 3 Bethel (TN) 1
In the last match of the classic, the Bearcats faced the Wildcats in a four-set matchup. Bethel took set one, 25-22, as the Wildcats out-hit BU. The Bearcats came back to tie the set score in a 25-18 set two victory as they hit .231 as a team. Back-to-back set wins for Brescia gave the Bearcats the match win in four sets.
Francisca Sousa had 10 kills on 22 chances as she highlighted the Bearcat's offense front. Chandlyr Friend and Callie Mason combined for 23 kills in the match as Cheaney Archer tallied 44 assists. Campbell McBride lifted 28 digs in the win for BU.
The Bearcats will hit the road to Campbellsville, KY for a neutral site game against Union Commonwealth on Wednesday, Sep. 3, at 3pm.
